She spent the beginning of her career as the Head of Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychiatry at Surrey Memorial Hospital where she focused on building a thriving and highly collaborative CL service that provides psychiatric treatment to patients on the medical and surgical wards including the oncology and palliative care units. She also received an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines on how to manage vulnerable patients in the hospital.

She is also the provincial practice director for Psychiatry in BC Cancer, Clinical Associate professor at UBC and the Past-President of the BC Psychiatric Association.
